October 25, 2018 - Update #2

1. 10/105 new recipes

I made 4 new recipes this month!

7. Hottie Black Eyed Peas with Kale - Appetite for Reduction by Isa Chandra Moskowitz
It finally got kind of chilly out and I celebrated with black eyed peas. I've made a lot of variations on this sort of recipe and this was genuinely one of the best! Served it over brown rice.

8. Smoky Potato Chickpea Stew from here.
Super tasty recommendation from my friend Desiree. Definitely one to make again.

9. Classic Black Bean & Veggie Chili - Appetite for Reduction by Isa Chandra Moskowitz
This was a very easy chili that I thought was almost as good as the one in Isa Does It! Shaun thought it was a little too limey and agave nectary so I'll probably use less of those when I make it again. It was so stuffed with veggies!

10. Yam & Black Bean Soup with Orange & Cilantro - Appetite for Reduction by Isa Chandra Moskowitz
They were out of Cilantro which was a Real Tragedy and since I didn't seed the chilies (I almost never do) it was Almost Too Spicy and definitely too orangey, but it was still a solid base of a recipe. Getting through the leftovers was a bit of a slog, though.

3. A weekly effort

I dug up some old clothes and just wearing these old comfy tee shirts made me feel a little bit fancy. I also actually did my hair this month. It takes over an hour to both wash and blow-dry my hair and then it's looks so huge and wild, and I kind of love it, but it's exhausting!

4. Saturday Movie Night

3. Escape from New York

4. The Amityville Horror

5. Train to Busan

6. Unfriended

Watching and livetweeting my friend ang's HalloweenMovieClub picks all October. It's been super fun getting some horror in and not having to think about what we're gonna be watching on Saturday!

7. Keep My Patreon Up to Date!

I have stuff scheduled to get me caught up! I did let myself take a little break from posting when I was feeling overwhelmed.

8. Keep my website up to date!

Site Updates this month:

10. Take Breaks

I was feeling pretty overwhelmed this month, so I let myself take a couple of weeks off from a few things. It helped a lot.

13. Play more video games

I beat Persona 5 and started a new game+, huzzah!

17. Monthly Date Night

Got cute and had some Lone Wolf after we went to the dentist, not the Official date night, but super good! Going out for a proper date tomorrow night, so I don't have photos for the update!

20. Yoga Goals!

I've done a lot of yoga this month, but I also had to take a break for some weird shoulder/neck stuff. I guess after so many years of recurring problems that it's just a fact of life I have to sometimes deal with. Being stronger helps, though, I think. Have to keep taking care of myself one way or another, either by taking a few days off or doing yoga every day.

24. Read 10 non-fiction books

2. Victoria's Daughters by Jerrold Packard

25. Read 10 fiction books

I started a couple of books this month, I'm about halfway done with one of them and a third into the other. One of them is a gothic I'm reading in the bath and I'm livetweeting it on @thehappysnaps

26. 100 Happy Days

32 days along on my 100 happy things from my everyday, photos taken with my phone. It's definitely an exercise that helps me feel a bit more positive and I love to have this record of my favorite time of year.
